Chalice are actually a variety of LPS coral, they mostly encrust and appear to just melt over a surface but will often "cup" and almost form a large bowl. They come in a variety of growth and color pattern, along with that being they are a variety of corals they have a variety of requirements but generally all do well with a medium flow medium light placement, some specimens will exhibit color changes under higher lighting and if so this will be stated in the listing for that particular chalice.
